Contra Costa County coroner released the boy's identity today.

A teen who died when he apparently leapt out of a moving vehicle late last month on Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon was identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office today as 16-year-old Devin Hrovat.

Hrovat, a Walnut Creek resident, died in an incident on northbound Highway 680 on Jan. 22, according to the coroner’s office. At about 10:30 p.m. that day, Hrovat apparently removed his seat belt and exited a Toyota Camry as it traveled on the highway near Alcosta Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A white sedan that was behind the Camry hit Hrovat, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
