UPDATE On Buckling Road, Water Main Break In Nearby Alamo

This will be a mess for awhile.

About 50 East Bay Municipal Utility District customers are without water this morning following a water main break reported on a major thoroughfare in unincorporated Alamo, an EBMUD spokeswoman said.

The break was reported at 6:57 a.m. on Danville Boulevard near Hemme Avenue, a San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

The break was on a 10-inch cast iron pipe and “quite a lot of water” has leaked out of the pipe, which had not been shut off as of 8:45 a.m., EBMUD spokeswoman Abby Figueroa said.
