Water-Main Repairs Set For Wednesday In Pleasant Hill

Leak was reported Sunday, officials said.

PLEASANT HILL, CA – A broken water main that carries untreated canal water for irrigation purposes to about 475 houses in the Poet's Corner neighborhood of Pleasant Hill is scheduled to be repaired on Wednesday.

The leak was first reported Sunday in the vicinity of Masefield and Hawthorne drives, and it caused road closures in the area, police said.

Those roadways have since reopened to local traffic, according to Phil Williamson, advisory board chairman for the Diablo Vista County Water System.

Williamson estimated that the water main in question was a 10- to 12-inch line and that roughly 20 homes had been affected by the service interruption. The leak was discovered quickly, however, and water loss was
minimal.

"I think we got to it pretty quick," Williamson said. "By the time I went by a few hours after, it was already dry."
