Water Restored After Water Main Break On Danville Blvd.
The flood water damaged several residences.

Water service was restored Wednesday afternoon to around 50 East Bay Municipal Utility District customers after a water main break in unincorporated Alamo, according to a district spokeswoman.
The break was reported at 6:57 p.m. on Danville Boulevard near Hemme Avenue, according to San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District officials. Water service was restored around 1:30 p.m., EBMUD spokeswoman Abby Figueroa said.
The break occurred in a 10-inch cast iron pipe dating to 1931, and Figueroa said the cause was not clear.

“With pipes like that, they’re older, they’re corroded, and there’s a lot of ground movement in the area, so it’s usually some combination of those things,” she said.
A four-unit building on Danville Boulevard was flooded during the break. Figueroa said she did not know the extent of the damage, but that EBMUD officials would work with homeowners to assess the damage, help with the initial cleanup of items such as mud on driveways and then work with the property owners to make sure the rest is covered.
