The suspect told the victim he would be shot if he did not hand over his cash and phone, police said.

PLEASANTON, CA — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who allegedly robbed two Stoneridge Shopping Center patrons on New Year’s Eve. According to police, at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 31, the two victims, who were sitting in a car parked in the parking lot near the Cheesecake Factory, were approached by two male suspects.

The first suspect contacted the driver and told the driver he would be shot if he did not hand over his cash and phone. The suspect had his hand in the pocket of his hoodie sweatshirt and simulated holding a gun, police said. The passenger handed the second suspect his phone. Both men fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel.

The first suspect is described as a black male adult in his 20s. He is about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt with the hood up and had curly dark hair sticking out of the hoodie. No additional information about the second suspect was available, police said.
