$22K Of Tools Stolen From Alameda County Fire Crew In Pleasanton
A new ACFD crew has had to temporarily disband after two service trucks and a buggy were broken into and vandalized in Pleasanton.

PLEASANTON, CA — An Alameda County Fire Department crew is temporarily out of service after losing roughly $22,000 worth of tools to a burglary, according to ACFD and the Pleasanton Police Department.
ACFD Hand Crew 8, a recently-created team, was staying in Pleasanton on Feb. 6 to help out with storm repair, according to department spokesperson Cheryl Hurd. Two service trucks and a buggy were broken into and vandalized, and personal equipment and five vital chainsaws were stolen.
“This act of vandalism has dealt a severe blow to Crew 8, rendering them temporarily out of service,” Hurd said in a news release. “As a new program, Crew 8 operates with limited resources, making this loss even more challenging to overcome. However, we stand united as a department and a community and are determined to support our firefighters.”
