Up To 3 Lanes Closing Nightly On I-580
Overnight work between Castro Valley and Pleasanton began this week and could cause delays for the next two months.
PLEASANTON, CA — Up to three lanes may be closed nightly along I-580 between Pleasanton and Castro Valley in both directions, Caltrans announced Monday.
Crews are conducting grinding work to smooth existing pavement profile and remove surface irregularities. To ensure the safety of workers, multi-lane closures, shifting traffic patterns, and delays should be expected during construction hours. Construction is expected to last for approximately two months.
Westbound lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., and eastbound lanes will be closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Westbound grinding operations will begin near the I-680/I-580 interchange, will eastbound operations will begin near the I-580/SR-238 interchange.

Up to three lanes may be closed each night, though Caltrans aims to maintain two lanes open when possible.
