680 Portion To Close Nightly From December Through April: Caltrans
Northbound lanes of 680 from 84 to Sunol Boulevard will be closed overnight starting Thursday.
PLEASANTON, CA — A stretch of northbound 680 in southern Pleasanton will be closed overnight during the week starting in December, Caltrans announced.
All lanes of northbound 680 between State Route 84 and Sunol Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday through April 2023.

The closures in Pleasanton are part of a larger, roughly 18-month improvement project to repave I-680 from Koopman Road in Sunol to Alcosta Boulevard in San Ramon and replace sections of the roadway, according to the agency.

A number of detours will be in place during the closure. Drivers from the South Bay will be directed to take I-880, SR-280, or I-580 instead of I-680. For closures between the Koopman Road and Sunol Boulevard exits, drivers should leave I-680 at Paloma Road, take Pleasanton-Sunol Road, and re-enter I-680 at Sunol Boulevard. Drivers going east should take I-84 to I-580.
Work will also require closing I-680 for 72 hours on the following holidays in 2023:
