7th National PSD Youth Cricket Tournament Concludes with Spectacular Finals in California

Pleasanton, CA – December 8, 2024

The 7th National PSD Youth Cricket Tournament culminated in a thrilling finale on December 2, 2024, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship, youth excellence, and cricketing prowess. This eagerly awaited tournament brought together budding cricket talent from across the nation, with matches hosted in Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, and Danville, California.

The tournament, organized jointly by San Ramon Cricket Association - Youth, Dublin Cricket League and Cricket for Cubs, showcased 40 exhilarating matches played over five days across three age groups: Under 11 (U11), Under 13 (U13), and Under 15 (U15). The event featured participation from 10 premier cricket academies from West Coast including Bay Area, Seattle, San Diego and Orange County etc.,, In this edition, 20 teams participated in the tournament playing 40 games on 6 different fields across three cities.

U13 Final: SRCA vs. CCA Stars – CCA Stars clinched victory by 4 wickets.

U11 Final CCA Tornadoes vs. VKCA Vulcans – VKCA Vulcans triumphed by 5 wickets.

U15 Final: SCYCA vs. DCL – DCL emerged victorious by 2 wickets.

Distinguished Dignitaries Grace the Occasion

The grand closing ceremony was honored by the presence of esteemed dignitaries who celebrated the participants’ dedication and efforts:

Speaking at the event, Jack Balch lauded the tournament's role in fostering youth development and community engagement, while Mark Armstrong emphasized the importance of sports in building leadership and teamwork among young athletes. Srini Salvar acknowledged the growing prominence of cricket in the U.S. and encouraged the players to aim for international glory.

A Message from the Founder

Addressing the gathering, Ramesh Immadi, the founder and convenor of the tournament, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the young athletes, their families, and the organizers. “This tournament is more than just cricket; it’s a platform to inspire our youth to dream big and develop life skills like resilience, teamwork, and leadership,” said Immadi. “Seeing the dedication and passion of these players reminds us why youth sports are so important for building a bright future, not just for cricket but for our communities.”

A Celebration of Teamwork and Skill

This year’s tournament was marked by fierce competition and camaraderie, reflecting the remarkable talent and hard work of the young cricketers. Parents, coaches, and fans turned out in full force to support the athletes, creating an electrifying atmosphere at all venues.
