Alameda County Supervisor Candidates To Debate In Pleasanton
Four candidates for the District 1 seat will face off at the Pleasanton Senior Center on Sunday to discuss traffic, housing and more.

EAST BAY, CA — Four candidates for the Alameda County Board of Supervisors District 1 seat are scheduled to debate traffic, business, housing and homelessness, climate action and sustainable energy issues Sunday at the Pleasanton Senior Center, according to a bulletin for the event posted on Facebook.
Candidates Vinnie Bacon, David Haubert, Melissa Hernandez and Bob Wieckowski are vying for the District 1 seat, which covers Dublin, Livermore, Fremont and surrounding unincorporated areas to the east. Bacon is a Fremont City Councilmember, Haubert is Dublin's Mayor, Hernandez is a Dublin City Councilmember and Wieckowski serves in the California Senate.
Current District 1 Supervisor Scott Haggerty said last summer that he planned to retire at the end of his four-year term in January 2021, after 18 years of service.

The debate is sponsored by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, East Bay and Tri-Valley chapters of Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs, the Bay Area chapter of the Sierra Club and 80-20 United political action committee.
