Alert Neighbor Helps Catch Pleasanton Burglar: Police

Police had to set up a perimeter when the suspect ran into an orchard.

Pleasanton, CA - Pleasanton Police arrested a burglary suspect Monday, after a woman called 9-1-1 to report that a man was climbing into a rear window of her neighbor’s home. This was the second burglary suspect arrested in the past week.

Monday’s burglary was reported at 9:11 a.m. on Lemonwood Way. Police say that when officers arrived, the suspect fled out the back yard and over a fence into the large orchard just to the south of the Muirwood tract and north of Foothill Knolls.

A perimeter was established as officers pursued the suspect on foot. The suspect was located, detained and positively identified by witnesses.

Kerry Rudd, 34, a transient originally out of Concord, was arrested and booked into Santa Rita County Jail on felony burglary charges, as well as an outstanding warrant for the same crime out of Contra Costa County.
