Community of Character says “Thanks” to retiring board members!

Joanie Fields has worked tirelessly for the past 10 years as a board member of the Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative. She has helped with our Annual Award Luncheons and started the Annual BBQ Fundraiser, which has allowed us to raise funding to increase the scholarships from 2-3 per year to fourteen this year. She has been a constant supporter of the “Make a Difference Festival” and has come up with many ideas to make the functioning of the board effective.

Monique Liebhard represented the Pleasanton Unified School District on the board. She brought the perspective of helping the needy and assisting those students who were not in the mainstream of the school population. She was especially concerned with helping those who were new to the country and needed assimilation and assistance. After many years with the district, Monique is retiring but felt a closeness and to the board and expressed her desire to find the same kind of opportunity to help others in Benicia where she lives.

We cannot thank them enough for the spirit of goodness which they have brought to the board and to the community.

The Community of Character Collaborative is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization of volunteers working together to create a Pleasanton community culture built on values, goodwill, and community-accepted traits of Responsibility, Compassion, Self-Discipline, Honesty, Respect and Integrity.

Annually, the Community of Character honors students with scholarships and others for their character and service to the community. www.CommunityOfCharacter.org
