Saahas Yamsani completed his Eagle Board of Review and will be honored at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on June 29, 2026. Saahas is the son of Shravani Vooturi and Anj Yamsani of Pleasanton. He is a recent graduate of Foothill High School.
He is a member of Troop 916, sponsored by the Highland Oaks Improvement Association. Thanks go to his Scoutmaster Darren Tippit and for his dedication to Scouting and help along the way.
Sahas has been active in Scouting and has been a leader in the troop as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. Saahas loves the opportunity for camping and the summer adventures with his friends, one of his favorite things is building campfires and huddling around them for the night.
For his Eagle Scout service project, Saahas constructed 2 picnic tables for the rooftop of Covenant House’s Oakland branch. A total of 166 hours were spent on the project by 17 volunteers. Rafael Roboldo, the organization’s supervisor, commented that the benches were much appreciated and used by the house youth, especially because the interior of their building is still undergoing renovations. Many thanks to Darren Tippit and David Bernhard for their mentorship throughout the Eagle project.
Saahas interests include Martial Arts, Sports, Hiking and Photography. He has a Third Degree Black Belt, volunteered at Tri-Valley Haven’s food pantry, Open Heart Kitchen, and Learn TO be Tri-Valley as an Online Tutor. He is a PSAT National Merit Finalist and will be attending the University of Southern California in the fall. He hopes to start a biotech company after graduating in biomedical engineering.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, provide leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They must also plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school, or community group.
