Evacuation Orders Expand Throughout Pleasanton As 'Little Fire' Grows

PLEASANTON, CA — Areas of Pleasanton and unincorporated Alameda County are under evacuation orders due to a 700-acre fire, according to the Watch Duty app.

That includes most of eastern Pleasanton, including the Smallwood Hill and Ruby Hill areas as of 5 p.m. The areas are under a Level 3 evacuation order, meaning residents are required to leave immediately and follow all instructions from emergency personnel. Two areas near Shadow Cliffs that were under evacuation warnings are now under evacuation warnings are now under evacuation orders. No areas are under warnings as of 5:03 p.m.

The Pleasanton Senior Center at 5353 Sunol Boulevard is open as an evacuation support center, the Livermore Pleasanton Fire department said.

The Little Fire broke out around 2:41 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Little Valley Road and Hubbard Lane south of Pleasanton, southeast of the Callippe Preserve Golf Course, according to Cal Fire. It spread to 50 acres by 3:05 p.m., then 150 acres at 3:30 p.m., then 700 acres by 4:35 p.m. The fire is at 0% containment as of 4:35 p.m.

Cal Fire said that it is cooperating with Alameda County Fire and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. Pulsepoint showed 27 trucks on scene and two more en route as of 2:38 p.m.

An additional five engines, two dozers, and two water tenders were requested as of 4:27 p.m. per Incident Command, according to Watch Duty.

The city of Dublin said at 5 p.m. that there is no immediate threat to its residents or businesses, but smoke is drifting in that direction.
