Fire Near I-680 In Sunol Stopped After Quick Response

SUNOL, CA — Forward progress was stopped on a 10 to 15-acre fire that broke out near I-680 northbound in Sunol, according to Watch Duty.

The Pleasanton Fire broke out around 3:10 p.m., and had spread to a quarter-acre by 3:27 p.m. Friday, according to Watch Duty.

11 units were on sight with one more en route as of 3:12 p.m., according to Pulsepoint. By 3:44 p.m., the fire had expanded to 3:44 p.m., and crews were making good progress on the left and right flanks, incident command told Watch duty.

Forward progress was stopped at 4:09 p.m. at around 10-15 acres.

The fire broke out not far from the site of the Little Fire, which broke out Tuesday, expanded to 1,007.3 acres, and resulted in evacuation orders from several districts in Pleasanton and unincorporated Alameda County. As of Friday, the fire remains at 1,007.3 acres, with 85% containment.
