San Ramon Teen Hospitalized After Pleasanton Attack: Police

PLEASANTON, CA — A 17-year-old San Ramon boy was hospitalized with multiple arm lacerations after he and another teenager were attacked outside a Pleasanton apartment complex Monday, police said.

On Monday at 5:44 p.m., Pleasanton police received a call that two people were being attacked outside an apartment on the 3600 block of Andrews Drive, according to PPD Lt. Brandon Stocking. The caller told police that she was outdoors in the apartment complex with her two friends, who were then attacked by two unidentified suspects wearing medical masks.

The attackers fled after a brief struggle. Afterward, the 17-year-old boy from San Ramon, discovered multiple lacerations to his arm, likely caused by a knife or another sharp object, according to police. Victims said they did not see a knife or any other weapon.

Officers arrived and provided medical aid. The boy from San Ramon was transported to Eden Medical Center in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim, a 16-year-old from San Leandro, sustained minor injuries and did not require medical transportation, police said.

The suspects are described as two white males, approximately 17 to 18 years old, with short hair. Pleasanton detectives said that they do not believe this was a random attack, and that the victims were likely targeted for reasons still to be determined.
