• Pleasanton Harvest Festival (contracosta.news) — Pleasanton residents can look forward to the Harvest Festival returning October 23–25, offering three days of shopping from local makers, live music, and kids' Halloween activities. With free admission for the first 100 Friday ticket buyers and daily cash-prize drawings, the event at the Pleasanton venue promises a busy weekend of crafts, food, and family fun.

• Kaiser lays off 147 employees across California, including in Oakland and Pleasanton (sfchronicle.com) — Pleasanton residents employed by Kaiser should know that 22 local administrative positions are being eliminated as part of 147 layoffs statewide effective Nov. 20, though patient care roles are not affected. Kaiser says it's restructuring business functions and offering some severance and career support, while maintaining that medical services and access for members will continue unchanged.
