PLEASANTON, CA — 'Tis almost the season. The city of Pleasanton is accepting applications to participate in this year's Hometown Holiday Celebration, which will take place Saturday, Dec. 6 on Main Street.
The parade will feature festive floats, cars, marching bands, and community organizations, followed by a tree lighting in front of the Museum on Main with live musical entertainment and appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Parade entry fees range from $60 to $100, depending on the group category. Parade entry applications must be submitted by Sunday, Nov. 22, and registration fees must be paid by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30.
Individuals interested in auditioning to announce the parade must submit an online application, along with a one-minute video of themselves. The video should be recorded standing against a plain background while reading the audition script provided on the event website. Auditions are open to anyone 16 or older.
The city is also seeking volunteers, including parade marshals, set up and tear down, and other key positions. Volunteer opportunities are open to anyone 16 or older.
Local businesses and organizations are invited to sponsor the celebration for amounts ranging from $500 to $10,000. Anyone with sponsorship questions can contact 925-931-5367.
Anyone interested in volunteering, entering the parade, auditioning, sponsoring, or more can visit hometownholiday.com, or email hometownholiday@cityofpleasantoca.gov.
"The Hometown Holiday Celebration is one of Pleasanton's beloved traditions, and the one time of year we bring the entire community together. This event could not happen without the many dedicated volunteers who help bring it to life," said Pleasanton Recreation Supervisor Tracy Newman. "Whether you want to be in the parade, volunteer, sponsor, or be the voice that announces the floats and bands, we'd love to have you be part of the celebration."
