Badly Neglected Bulldog Needs $10K Worth Of Medical Care
Her list of ailments may be long but like most animals, her sweet face shows that she does not feel sorry for herself. She is a fighter.

PLEASANTON, CA — A badly neglected English bulldog is in dire need of at least $10,000 worth of veterinary care, according to the Valley Humane Society. When she arrived at the Pleasanton shelter, Beatrice was suffering from an ear infection that will leave her deaf. The 2-year-old dog will likely need surgery to remove her ear canals and eardrums.
Her toenails were so long that they wrapped around her feet. She has an upper respiratory infection, difficulty breathing, advanced gingivitis, ingrown eyelashes and a cherry eye that is now black. The estimated costs are just for her urgent needs and will grow as she is treated for other issues, including being spayed.
Her list of ailments may be long but like most animals, her sweet face shows that she does not feel sorry for herself. She is a fighter. Shelter officials said Beatrice can be treated and have a long life with a new family. In the meantime, the shelter is asking for the public’s help funding the dog’s care so she can be put up for adoption in a few months.
