Bay Area Pet Fair Comes To Alameda County Fairgrounds

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Organizers say it's the largest pet festival and animal adoption event in North America, and it's coming to the Alameda Count Fairgrounds in Pleasanton this weekend.

The Bay Area Pet Fair, Sept. 14-15, will feature more than 2,000 adoptable dogs, cats, bunnies and small animals in need of loving, forever homes. There will also be more than 100 vendor booths (with lots of free goodies!), and the best part is that admission and parking for the event are free.

Event highlights:

— 70+ shelters and rescues will be on hand with adoptable pets

— Celebrity attendees include Jackson Galaxy, the cat-whisperer and host of "My Cat From Hell," and Brandon McMilan, host of "Lucky Dog"

— Splash Dogs Dock Diving Competition and K9 demonstrations

— DIY dog food cooking classes

— Pet education classes

— Bunny-Mania

— Family Fun Zone

— Food trucks

— Live music

Bay Area Pet Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Alameda County Fairgrounds is located at 4501 Pleasanton Ave. in Pleasanton. Leashed pets are welcome at the event.
