Lanes On I-580 Reopen Following Big Rig Fire

The fire and cleanup closed lanes on the busy highway for most of the day.

PLEASANTON, CA — A big rig that caught fire blocked multiple lanes on eastbound I-580 in Tri-Valley for hours on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The fire was reported in the area of San Ramon/ Foothill roads just before 10 a.m. and the CHP issued a Sig-alert for the incident soon after.

Drivers were delayed throughout the day. Lanes have since reopened.

The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department and Caltrans crews responded to the scene to assist the CHP. No other information is available.
