Boy Scouts Host Christmas Tree Recycling Pick-Up
Make your reservation with Troop 941 of Pleasanton. It's a wonderful way to dispose of your tree and a scout fundraiser!

PLEASANTON, CA – For the 11th consecutive year, Pleasanton Boy Scout Troop 941 will collect discarded Christmas trees from residents next month and transfer them to a mulching station.
Sign-ups for the Pleasanton service, a scout project and fundraiser, are underway through Jan. 2. The pick-up will be Saturday, Jan. 5, and trees should be curbside by 8 a.m.
The trees are transported to the Pleasanton Garbage Service transfer station where they are mulched for reuse by the community, organizers said.

Last year, roughly 1,000 trees, weighing in at 15-plus tons, were collected from area homes by more than 42 scouts and parent volunteers.
Funds raised by the project are used by Troop 941 to pay for camping equipment and such scouting activities as the annual summer camp at Wente Scout Reservation and for weekend outings.
