Broken Gas Main Forces Partial Road Closure in Pleasanton

PG&E crews worked to repair the line. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

A broken gas line near the Valley Trails neighborhood closed the southbound lanes of Hopyard Road at North Valley Trails Drive in Pleasanton Saturday morning, police officials said. The break was reported to Livermore-Pleasanton Fire in the area of Hopyard Road and Valley Avenue at 10:24 a.m., according to the Pulsepoint phone application.

Emergency personnel, city crews and PG&E workers worked for several hours to repair the break and provide traffic control, according to a Nixle Alert sent by police. Police officials say no evacuations were made as a result of the break.

The road reopened later that afternoon.
