Brush Fire Shuts Down Niles Canyon Road

Niles Canyon Road, between Mission Blvd. and Palomares Rd.,​ was closed in both directions due to a brush fire.

NILES CANYON, CA — A brush fire that was burning in Niles Canyon Monday afternoon forced the closure of Niles Canyon Road, but the California Highway Patrol reopened all lanes shortly before 5 p.m.

Niles Canyon Road, between Mission Blvd. and Palomares Rd., was closed in both directions due to a vegetation blaze ignited by an RV fire. The blaze was reported around 2 p.m., according to the CHP.

The small fire has been fully contained and all lanes were reopened on Niles Canyon Road at 4:42 p.m., according to the CHP.
