Indivisible Tri-Valley Vigil for Lorenzo, Johan and All ICE Victims

We are gathering to remember Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, Johan Sebastian Guerrero and all the victims killed by ICE.

Following the vigil, those who are able to are invited to walk together across the street to the Pleasanton City Council meeting at the Civic Center (200 Old Bernal Avenue). We will stand in solidarity with immigrant communities and urge Pleasanton to create an emergency plan to protect the rights of all residents, regardless of immigration status, when immigration enforcement agents show up in our city. If you are comfortable, please consider making a brief public comment in support of justice, dignity, and human rights.

The murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastian Guerrero has become a national call to conscience. On Tuesday, July 7, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Houston, Texas. He was a dad driving a work van with his crew when he was gunned down.

Then on Monday, July 13, ICE unleashed the same horrific tactics, fatally shooting 26-year-old Johan Sebastian Guerrero when they stopped his vehicle in Biddeford, Maine. His wife and toddler were forced to witness his murder.

Lorenzo and Johan were beloved members of their communities - who were killed on their way to work, one to a job site, the other to start his day as a food delivery driver. Both were killed by ICE agents spreading fear, sowing chaos, and inflicting violence.

Please bring flowers for victims, and signs of your choosing. Be respectful for this is a vigil to remember victims. We will have materials to make signs, and some art project.
