Car Stolen In Pleasanton Driveway Found Near Tahoe

A tracking device on the car led police to a South Lake Tahoe resort, South Tahoe Now reported. Two men were arrested.

PLEASANTON, CA — A BMW stolen Saturday while warming up in the owner's driveway was recovered later that night after police tracked it to South Lake Tahoe, where officers arrested two men in connection with the theft, South Tahoe Now reported.

Scott Martin Boyles, 30, and Gabriel Lee Strong, 25, both of South Lake Tahoe, were arrested and booked into jail, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and El Dorado County jail records.

The Pleasanton Police Department reached out to South Lake Tahoe Police to let them know they tracked the car, stolen at 2 p.m., to South Lake Tahoe by 8 p.m., South Tahoe Now reported. South Lake Tahoe Police struck out at the first tracked location, but found and arrested the men at the Ski Run Marina.

Boyles was arrested on suspicion of felony charges related to vehicle theft and conspiracy to commit a crime, plus an unspecified enhancement, which can be tacked onto a charge to enhance the punishment, jail records show. His bail is set at $150,000.

Strong was arrested on suspicion of felony charges related to vehicle theft, conspiracy to commit a crime, violating probation, plus two enhancements. His bail is set at $160,000, jail records show.
