Castlewood Country Club Celebrates 90th Anniversary

The club has been a part of Pleasanton since 1926.

PLEASANTON, CA: Earlier this month, members of the Castlewood Country Club celebrated 90 years in Pleasanton. More than 200 members and their guests turned out on April 19 to celebrate the milestone anniversary.

"We borrowed several items from the Museum on Main including one of Phoebe Hearst’s dresses and her cape," Membership Director Debbie Leonardo told Patch. "We had an original eave from the building that burned down on display along with many, many other items with historical significance to the club."

A progressive golf dinner was also held on the front nine holes of the Hill Course.

"We followed the original layout of the front 9 where many holes played backwards from the way they are played today," Leonardo said. "We had 3 members that have been members for well over 45 years as docents and they gave little talks about how things were way back when. We had over 90 members participate."

Leonardo said members enjoyed the progressive dinner with wine pairing on the course with dessert and dancing on the grille lawn at the end.
