Community of Character increases scholarships with BBQ/Auction Event

Fundraising event more than doubles scholarships from the prior year.

The Community of Character Scholarship honors the memory of Juanita Haugen, trustee and president of Pleasanton School Boards for 28 years. Juanita had a passion for children and was a leader in the district’s character education program. She was the leading proponent for the establishment of the “Community of Character Collaborative”. Juanita died in 2007 due to cancer. The scholarship honors students from Pleasanton High Schools who exemplify the character traits of the Community of Character Collaborative through example and service.

Keep the memory of Juanita Haugen alive and help these amazing Pleasanton students fulfill their dreams by purchasing tickets or donating to the Scholarship Fund.

Last year, due to the success of the BBQ/Fundraiser, we were able to increase the number of scholarships to eleven from five the prior year.
