Community Invited to Popular 'Tip-A-Cop' Fundraiser at Red Robin

The Police Officer's Association is hosting the annual event, which raises money for Special Olympics of Northern California.

Members of the Police Officer’s Association in Pleasanton will be trading in their handcuffs, taking dinner orders and serving diners at Red Robin in support of a great cause next week. All of the tips earned by the volunteers during the Tip-A-Cop dinner on Oct. 22 between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. will benefit the Special Olympics of Northern California.

The popular event is coordinated, hosted and staffed entirely by the Pleasanton Police Officer’s Association, which is the independent union representing officers of the Pleasanton Police Department. Officers and sergeants donate their off-duty time several times a year to help make the fundraisers successful. Special Olympics athletes will be helping the officers throughout the night.

In May of 2014, an anonymous, benevolent diner left a $1,000 tip after dining at the fundraiser.
