Summer Swim Programs will Continue, Despite Pool Renovation

The swim programs will be moved to the pool at Amador Valley High School.

Information from the City of Pleasanton--

Although the west side of the Dolores Bengtson Aquatic Center (DBAC) in Pleasanton is closed for renovation this summer, seasonal swim programs will continue in the city under the direction of the Community Services Department. The 50-meter pool, locker rooms and office will remain open during the renovation, and some programs will be relocated to the pool at Amador Valley High School.

For example, summer recreational swim will take place at the Amador Valley High School pool at 1155 Santa Rita Road. Because the pool starts at 3.5 feet and quickly reaches a depth of 12 feet and has a limited shallow area, recreational swim is recommended only for accomplished swimmers. In addition, an adult swimmer in the pool must accompany all children under the age of six at all times. For customer safety, swimmers lacking the necessary level of proficiency may be removed from the pool at the discretion of the aquatic staff. Admission for recreation swim can be purchased at the Amador Theater box office, located near the pool.
