About Tri-Valley Triton Water Polo Club
The Tri-Valley Triton Water Polo Club launched its inaugural summer season on Monday, May 20 at the Foothill High School pool. The age groups for boy’s are: 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U. No prior water polo experience is required. An experienced coaching staff has been assembled to guide player’s development from beginners through advanced skills. Specialized coaching for goalies is available. Online registration is available through June 25th at www.tritonwaterpolo.com.
Practice sessions for the summer program are: 12U and 14U Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4-6 PM; 16U and 18U Monday through Thursday 6-8 PM. All age groups will compete in weekend tournaments around the Bay Area to improve and practice their skills and game tactics. A comprehensive list of practice dates and tournaments is available on the club website. A goal for all teams will be to qualify for the National Junior Olympic Water Polo Tournament held in July 20-23 in Orange County. This prestigious tournament is the largest age group tournament in the country.
The Tri-Valley Triton Water Polo Club will be sponsoring the widely acclaimed Tony Azevedo Shooting and Goalie Clinic for high school boys and girls (ages 15-18) on July 9-11 at the Amador Valley High School pool. Tony Azevedo, a five-time USA Olympic team captain and Silver Medalist, is recognized as one of the most talented players ever to play water polo. He will be present at the clinic and will take an active part in coaching players. This clinic is rarely offered in the Bay Area so this is an opportunity not to be missed. The clinic is open to all Bay Area water polo players. Space for this clinic is limited. (60 spaces each for boys and girls). Registration is open and available on the Triton Water Polo Club website.
