Disturbing Video Leads To Arrests In Pleasanton Home Invasion
Police believe three teens are linked to a Sept. 11 burglary in Pleasanton and an Oct. 31 burglary in Fremont.
PLEASANTON, CA — Three juvenile burglary suspects whom police say were caught on camera breaking into a Pleasanton home and have are in custody at a juvenile detention facility, according to the City of Pleasanton. The Pleasanton Police Department believes the youth are linked to a Sept. 11 burglary in Pleasanton and Oct. 31 burglary in Fremont.
The Pleasanton incident occurred at a home on Burgundy Drive, but was interrupted when a woman screamed after the burglars forced entry through the front door. The suspects were gone by the time police arrived to search the neighborhood, but homeowners gave police surveillance footage of the break-in and posted it on Nextdoor. Pleasanton Police detectives launched and investigation and alerted nearby authorities.
On Oct. 31, Fremont Police reached out to Pleasanton Police to share similar suspects — South Bay males ages 15, 17 and 17 — were apprehended in a local burglary and booked into juvenile hall. Pleasanton detectives concluded their investigation on Dec. 13, determining that the suspects were linked to the Pleasanton break-in, too, said Sgt. Steven Ayers.
