PLEASANTON, CA — A 45-year-old man was arrested Monday following a domestic violence call that led to an hours-long police surveillance, according to Pleasanton Police Sgt. Julie Fragomeli.

Police were called Sunday around 4:40 p.m. to an apartment in the 4800 block of Bernal Avenue, not far from the Pleasanton Police Department.

Two women had escaped a unit where a drunken man was threatening them, Fragomeli said. Police determined the man was the only person inside the apartment and there was no threat to public safety, so negotiators worked to coax him out, the sergeant continued.
