Eagle Scout Award for Aarha Khanna

Aarha Khanna has qualified to become an Eagle Scout and received the award at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on January 24, 2024. Aarha is the son of Preeti and Yuvraj Khanna of Pleasanton. He is a member of Troop 948 sponsored by Graceway Church. Aarha appreciates all the support and work of his scoutmasters, Satyajit Phanse and Tim Lester for their dedication to scouting and help along the way.

Aarha has been active in Scouting and has held leadership positions as Instructor and Patrol Leader. Aarha loves scouting because of the new experiences and adventures that he got to experience, especially camping and sleeping out.

For his Eagle Scout project, Aarha was able to make a new bookshelf for his French teacher, Madame Benadjaoud. Her old bookcase was old, splintering, and yellowing. The bookshelf is made of sturdy wood, larger with a nice coat of stain and lacquer to preserve its color, providing a nice place to store her books. After receiving the new bookcase Madame Benadjaoud said, “It is the best piece of furniture in the entire classroom”. Twelve helpers spent nearly 200 hours on the project.

Aarha is a senior at Amador Valley High School. His interests include Music, computers, games, video-editing, and chilling with his friends. He ran Cross Country and Track and Field at Amador Valley. He was in the leadership of the Interact Club, which provides community service opportunities and is sponsored by the Rotary.

His life plans are to try to make the world a better place, he hopes to help end hunger and poverty, but in the meantime, he aims to secure a job, achieve financial success, and find happiness through giving back and being with friends..

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, provide leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They must also plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school, or community group.
