Eagle Scout Award for Henry Williams
For his Eagle Scout project, he built and installed two garden beds for the native plant garden in Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore.
Henry Williams has qualified to become an Eagle Scout and will receive the award at a Eagle Scout Court of Honor to be held soon. Henry is the son of George and Lisa Williams of Pleasanton, Ca. He is a member of Troop 998, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6298. Thanks go to his Scoutmaster, Clayton Carroll, for his dedication to scouting and help along the way. Thanks also for previous Scoutmasters, Mike Lennox and Sam Henson.
Henry has been active in Scouting and has held leadership positions as Patrol Leader and the Senior Patrol Leader of his troop. His favorite part about scouting is Camping, hiking, and especially High Adventure at Seabase Florida, Philmont, and Northern Tier.
For his Eagle Scout project, he built and installed two garden beds for the native plant garden in Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore. The project was accomplished with 6 helpers and took 75 hours to complete. Sycamore Grove ranger Seth Eddings was helpful in providing and overseeing the project which will be a wonderful addition to their native plant program.

Henry is a senior at the Athenian School. His interests include Scuba Diving, Backpacking, Mountain Biking and Robotics. He loves doing community service and is involved in sports. Club activity includes: Ocean Conservation and engineering.
To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, provide leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They must also plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school, or community group.
