Eagle Scout Award for Sebastian Civetta

Sebastian Civetta has qualified to become an Eagle Scout, his Court of Honor was held on October 12, 2022. He is the son of Sergio Civetta and Adriana Araujo of Pleasanton and is a member of Troop 911 sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pleasanton. He gives thanks to the leadership and support of his scoutmaster, Chris Carter.

Sebastian has been an active leader in his troop, serving as Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and Historian. He especially loved the tight knit community that scouting fosters. He states that, “Rather than just camping, hiking, and survival, I feel that much of scouting is in learning how to interact with people. We work as a team to do everything from cooking meals for campouts, to planning weekly meetings, to going on hikes, and I think that it is a great way to make long lasting friends.”

For his Eagle project, Sebasian built a road case for the Firehouse Art Center to facilitate transportation and storage for items needed for shows and performances. He also built a prop wagon the Art Center will use for theatrical productions. Eagle scout projects are required to learn leadership skills and give back to the community.

Sebastian is a senior at Amador Valley High School and will graduate with his class of 2023. He has been active by participating in his high school years as Drama Club president, member of the Film club, Amador Foothill musical, Creatures of Impulse cast member, and High School Music Collaborative member.

His interests are varied and include: improv, hiking, camping, guitar, listening to music, video games, acting, and hanging out with friends. Sebasian’s future plan is to go to Business School after graduating from high school

To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a Scout must be active in their troop, provide leadership, earn 21 merit badges including the areas of citizenship, camping, communications, cooking and lifesaving or emergency preparedness as well as demonstrate that they live by the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. They must also plan, develop and give leadership to others in a service project benefiting a religious institution, school or community group.
