Why We Need Composting at Stoneridge
3 Potato 4 at Stoneridge Mall is offering not only recycle, but also compost
options!
Here are some benefits to the city of Pleasanton:
• Turning waste into a value-added resource by providing valuable
feedstock for the region's only licensed composting facility.
• Extending the life of the region's only landfill.
• Preventing greenhouse emissions and leachate caused by decomposing
organic landfill waste.
• Producing valuable products, such as compost and fertilizer, that
enhance soil and aids in plant growth.
A Mom & Pop Smart Business
The Blanchard’s are members and supporters of green business and shop
green initiatives, “Sorry Kermit, it is easy being green,” laughs Guenevere
Blanchard, noting the vast variety of cost-efficient, recyclable, biodegradable,
and compostable packing available today. 3 Potato 4 serves customers organic
baked fries in a biodegradable paper cone, and the soup bowls and coffee cup
lids, spoons and soufflé cups are made out of potato starch…. all compostable.
“The entire business is biodynamic in that everything we’re serving to our
customer is consumable, compostable, recyclable or bio-degradable,” she
explains, adding, “We’re using the potato from start to finish.”
As a customer dining at 3 Potato 4, you are both supporting a small local
business and lowering the carbon footprint of Pleasanton, while enjoying guiltfree
baked fries! It’s a win-win!
