Elderly Pedestrian Injured in Downtown Pleasanton Collision
The crash occurred at about 10:15 a.m.

An elderly man was taken to a hospital this morning after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a street in Pleasanton, according to police. The accident occurred at 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of Main and St. Mary’s streets, police said.
A pickup truck that was headed south on Main Street struck the man as he was walking in the crosswalk, according to police. The victim suffered abrasions to his leg, police said. The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
The driver told police he did not see the man and tried to brake, but it was too late, according to police. Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
