Emergency Response Team Training Offered By Fire Department
Residents are invited to participate in the annual training hosted by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
PLEASANTON, CA — The community is invited to participate in the annual Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training hosted by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. The free training, which will start on May 18, will be held on Thursdays between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The training includes one Saturday class on June 10.
The classes, which are open to anyone who lives or works in Livermore or Pleasanton, will be held at the City of Pleasanton’s Operations Service Center and the LPFD training grounds on Busch Road.
“The CERT training is an opportunity for community members to learn about basic disaster preparedness and beyond,” fire officials said in a statement. “Through classroom and hands-on instruction, participants will learn about disaster preparedness and basic response related to fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and terrorism. The seven-session program also covers disaster psychology and the mission of the CERT organization, and culminates in a LPFD and CERT drill, putting what participants have learned into practice.”
