FAMILY HISTORY at the “Make a Difference Festival”

Whether you're interested in Family History, Volunteering or Emergency Preparedness, the "Make a Difference" Festival at the Pleasanton Senior Center will give you a head start.

The Festival will begin Sat, Jan 18, at 10am and conclude at 2pm.

The directors of the Oakland Family History center will be there with an amazing display.

They can explain how to get started in researching your own ancestry. There are also volunteer opportunities in family history.

For those who want to start the new year by getting involved with their community, over 40 nonprofits who operate in the Tri-Valley will have displays at the “Make a Difference” Festival.

Popular service projects will be at the festival, but all of the projects have been pre-registered and are full, but the nonprofits at the festival would love to talk to you about their exciting opportunities to serve.

(1) Tying fleece blankets for the homeless

(2) Making greeting cards for our local military (for Pleasanton Military Families)

(3) Sorting Crayons for "The Crayon Initiative", for children in hospitals.

The festival also features Emergency Preparedness with displays on Earthquake preparedness, fire safety, 72 hour kits, food and water storage.
