FHS Model United Nations Team Wins At International Competition

The competition was held in New York in November.

PLEASANTON, CA — The Foothill High School Model United Nations team took second place as Outstanding Large at the Empire Model United Nations Conference in New York. The competition was held at New York University between Nov. 15 to Nov. 18.

Advisor Stephen Ferrel called the students "amazing."

“It is a treasure to advise the delegates of Foothill Model United Nations," Ferrel told Patch. "All of the delegates put in countless hours after school preparing for this conference. Participating allows students to develop essential professional skills: diplomacy, public speaking, effective communication, and teamwork. I am excited to see these delegates continue to grow and utilize these skills to lead communities, corporations, and government organizations in the future.”
