Fire Burns Chabad Of The Tri Valley, No Indication Of Arson

The blaze was reported at 12:43 a.m. ​Friday at the Jewish center located at 3370 Hopyard Road​.

PLEASANTON, CA — A fire at Chabad of the Tri Valley in Pleasanton early Friday morning caused smoke damage inside the one-story building and significant damage to its exterior, but crews were able to quickly stop the flames from spreading.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:43 a.m. at the Jewish center located at 3370 Hopyard Road.

"Crews made an aggressive attack and were able to contain the fire to the exterior and roof area of the building. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes," according to Battalion Chief Jason Solak of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

A damage estimate is not yet available, Solak said.

The cause of the blaze is under a joint investigation by the Pleasanton Police Department and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

"As of now, there are no indications of arson," Solak said.

Alameda County Fire Department assisted in bringing the fire under control, Solak said.

Chabad of the Tri Valley serves as a center for Jewish people, "regardless of background or affiliation," according to its website.
