Fire Displaces Several In Pleasanton Complex

One unit was destroyed in the fire, which was discovered late Thursday night behind a dryer, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department said.

PLEASANTON, CA — A handful of residents of a Pleasanton condo complex were displaced overnight Thursday after a fire was seen coming from a resident's dryer.

There were no injuries.

The fire was confirmed around 11:40 p.m. in the 8100 block of Mountain View Drive, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department. One upper-level condo was a total loss, while residents of two lower-level condos were displaced due to water damage seeping from the upper level.

Alameda County Fire Department was also on scene.

The man whose unit was destroyed said he heard a crackling noise that night and went to check it out, LPFD said. He saw a fire behind the dryer and tried to extinguish with a fire extinguisher, but the fire quickly overcame his efforts.

The man exited the building and called 911.

The American Red Cross helped to find housing for several of those displaced by the fire.
