Foothill High Graduate Gets Hero’s Welcome in Pleasanton

U.S. Army Sergeant Jessica Sparrow returned to her hometown after multiple deployments overseas.

Pleasanton, CA — U.S. Army Sergeant Jessica Sparrow was welcomed back to Pleasanton on July 3 with a touching community homecoming celebration hosted by the Pleasanton Military Families Support Group.

Sparrow, a Foothill High graduate, enlisted in 2004 before graduating high school. The mother of two earned her degree in Criminal Justice while enlisted. She has been deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, and has earned seven Army medals and three commendations. She met her husband, who is also in the Army, while in the service.

The Pleasanton Military Families Support Group is a nonprofit organization that provides support to troops and families of military personnel in the East Bay.
