Foothill HS Students Win Top Awards At Management Competition
The Foothill High School DECA team received a total of 129 awards at the Northern California Career Development Conference in January.

PLEASANTON, CA — 56 out of 66 competitors from Foothill High School’s DECA team placed in the Northern California Career Development Conference, the organization announced in a news release.
From Jan. 14-16, members of Foothill’s DECA club – a chapter of the national organization that prepares emerging leaders in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management – competed at the conference in San Ramon against 600 other students from Northern California high schools. The students participated in a variety of real-life business scenarios testing practical and theoretical skills surrounding marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
Foothill competitors received a total of 129 awards for placing in the top 10 for roleplay or written events. 28 competitors placed in the top 3. The students trained for months to compete in the exams, roleplays, written presentations, and workshops.

“Planning and executing a conference in these unprecedented times was a challenge, but seeing the excitement of the students, and the success our chapter experienced, made it all worth it,” chapter advisor Tami Raaker said in a statement.
