Hart Middle School Student Hit By Car While Biking To School

The accident last week was at Hopyard and South Valley Trails. The child suffered minor injuries.

A Hart Middle School student suffered minor injuries after she was struck by a car last week while riding her bicycle to school, according to the traffic sergeant for the Pleasanton Police Department.

The 11-year-old girl on Thursday morning was riding northbound on the sidewalk along Hopyard Road and was hit as she entered the crosswalk at South Valley Trails, said Joseph Leonardo.

Leonardo said the vehicle was traveling at “a very low speed.” The driver was turning from South Valley Trails onto southbound Hopyard and was looking left at vehicle traffic and did not look right to see the bicyclist enter the crosswalk, he said.
