Here’s What’s New At Widmer-World Christmas Light Display
Santa will be visiting this season and posing for free photos.

PLEASANTON, CA — One of Tri-Valley’s most popular holiday lights displays will open in Pleasanton on Dec. 1. Adults and children from all over the Bay Area make the annual journey to visit the magical Widmer-World in Pleasanton.
So what's new this season? Bob Widmer, who is a retired software consultant, said he has added holiday inflatables and a large Ferris wheel to the front yard of his Fairlands home. Widmer said fans can also expect some “giant surprises” in the backyard this season.
Widmer, who has been decorating his yards since 1981, makes all of the wooden displays and moving carousels. Widmer-World is and always has been a family affair comprised of a tireless crew of Widmer's children and their spouses, grandchildren and a few close family friends. Widmer-World was featured on the popular television series "The Great Christmas Light Fight" on ABC in 2015.

Widmer-World is located at 3671 Chelsea Court in Pleasanton. The display will be open nightly until Dec. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cash donations are accepted to help offset the cost of providing free pictures with Santa and the presumably hefty PG&E bill. According to the Widmer-World website, any extra donations over the costs of electricity and St. Nick are forwarded on to the family's favorite charities.
