Jonathan Fey Selected As New Amador Valley High School Principal

Fey is a Pleasanton resident who served as principal of Monte Gardens Elementary School in Walnut Creek.

PLEASANTON, CA — Jonathan Fey, the former principal of Monte Gardens Elementary School in Concord and an 18-year resident of Pleasanton, was selected by the Pleasanton school board to lead Amador Valley High School.

Fey led Monte Gardens for four years. Before that, he served four years as vice principal of Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, and before that served for 20 years as an instrumental music teacher at schools throughout California.

In a message to Amador families, the school said Fey is “known for establishing strong relationships with staff and families, as well as maintaining a student-centered mindset when making school decisions.”

Fey succeeds Joshua Butterfield, who stepped down in June after serving three years. He is the school’s sixth principal in eight years, according to Pleasanton Weekly.

"I want to say thank you for the trust that you're placing in me in terms of being the instructional and curriculum leader of this wonderful and great school," Fey told trustees at their July 28 meeting. "It's going to be such a great opportunity
