With an emerging program, the Hawks received state recognition on Sept. 28 when Kyle Young (Liberty High) was selected as CCCWPCA men's Player of the Week, along with female winner Lily Worley of Golden West.

The award for Young followed a strong team performance during a 4-1 week for the Hawks, including three wins down south over Southwestern, El Camino and Grossmont, and a close loss in international action to Jalisco (Mexico) U-20.
