Letter to Editor: Resident Says Herb Ritter is 'Best Candidate' for Pleasanton City Council

Dawn M. Brum encourages residents to meet Ritter.

Dear Editor,

My husband and I have lived in Pleasanton for 26 years and have raised our two boys in Pleasanton. I have known the Ritter family for over 10 years. Our kids have grown up in the same schools together, and we have been in the same circle of friends for over 8 years, so I have gotten to know and come to love the Ritter family. Herb is truly a great friend, husband, and father. He always puts his family first, and is a great role model. He is a well-rounded man, from working out at Club Sport in the boot camp classes three days a week, to attending church at Blue Oaks every Sunday, he truly is a great guy who not only takes care of himself, but his family and those around him. He cares!

Herb has always been a constant Pleasanton supporter, whether it is helping and supporting Foothill High Schools sports that his son participated in, such as wrestling and football, or with the City of Pleasanton itself, he has and is always the first one to raise his hand to help volunteer or try to find a solution to solve whatever problem has risen. For example, Herb did all the leg work knocking on doors at our local businesses to raise the money needed to replace our run-down Foothill High School score board. He is a go-getter and 100% trust worthy.

I would definitely and whole-heartedly stand by whatever decision Herb makes because I know, from past experience and knowing him personally, that he researches, analyzes, explores, inquires, investigates, and does his own legwork into finding everything there is to know about the situation he is dealing with. And if he is unable to find the answer himself, he pulls from his many friends, coworkers, associates to help him find the answer. He not only is a great guy, but his wife and family are beyond nice -- they are truly one of the nicest families I know.

His positions on the issues are straight forward and right on track. From supporting water conservation, traffic flow in Pleasanton, working with our schools to make them better, building more parks, protecting Pleasanton’s open spaces, and enhancing our historic downtown -- he is the right man for the job of Pleasanton City Council. His community service for over 26 years has been noticed, and he has done a great deal of good in making Pleasanton the way it is today – one of America’s 50 best cities to live in.

With that said, I 100 percent support Herb and know that he would be and is the best candidate for the upcoming position of Pleasanton City Council member.

I encourage all who have not yet met Herb Ritter, to go meet him and listen to what he stands for and what he is supporting. For more information, please visit his website: HerbRitter.com. I strongly support Herb Ritter and I encourage all to go out and VOTE FOR HERB!

Thank you for your time.

Yours truly,

Dawn M. Brum, Pleasanton resident
